God and
the U.S. Constitution

God and the U.S. ConstitutionBy
Teresa Carr There has been an ongoing debate over whether the United
States Constitution and the laws of the United States government as to whether
they are based on Biblical principles or the ideologies of innovative deists
and other international constitutions. The truth is that the constitution
took many months of careful deliberation by Christian leaders who believed
that the laws of God were the only standards to rule a country. The U.S.
Constitution is the only document to achieve this which other countries have
followed its example of the democracy and Biblical principles that influenced
the building of governments worldwide. The following are statements that were made by our
forefathers who signed the U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence and
were great leaders of the American Revolutionary War. In their unprecedented
testimonials are proofs that the laws are formed from God’s commandments,
precepts, and statutes and the Gospel of Jesus Christ and no other source are
they derived from. It cannot be emphasized too strongly nor too often that
this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians, not on
religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. — Patrick Henry, leader of
the American Revolution It would be peculiarly improper to omit in this first official act, my fervent supplications to that Almighty Being . . . No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the invisible hand which conducts the affairs of men than the people of the United States . . . . We ought to be no less persuaded that the propitious smiles of Heaven, can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained. — George Washington, first presidential inaugural address The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were . . . the general Principles of Christianity . . . I will avow that I then believed and now believe, that those general Principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God; and that those Principles of Liberty, are as unalterable as human nature. — John Adams, second U. S. President The highest glory of the American Revolution was this;
it connected, in one indissoluble bond, the principles of civil government
and the principles of Christianity. — John Quincy Adams, sixth U.S.
President Americans should select and prefer Christians as their
rulers. — John Jay, First Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United
States of America and later served as Governor of New York retired from
duties to become gentleman farmer. We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God. — James Madison, U.S. President Our constitution was constructed from the ethics of the Holy Bible. If there were any questions concerning the originals of the writing of the U.S. constitution the answers are from the following scriptures: Exodus 18:21-22, Moreover thou shalt provide
out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating
covetousness, and place such over them, to be rulers of hundreds, rulers of
fifties, and rulers of tens: And let them judge the people at all seasons:
and it shall be that every great matter they shall bring thee, but every
small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for thyself, and they
shall bear the burden with thee. (Election of Governing Officials) Isaiah 33:22, For the LORD is our judge,
the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us. (Our three
branches of government-Judicial, Legislative, Executive) Ezra 7:24, Also we certify you, that
touching any of the priests and Levites, singers, porters (gatekeepers),
Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to
impose toll, tribute, or custom upon them. (Tax exemption for churches) Ezekiel 18:4-5, 7-8, 12, 16, 17,
Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of
the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. But if a man be just,
and do that which is lawful and right, And hath not oppressed any, but hath
restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given
his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment; He that hath not given forth upon
usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from
iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man, Hath walked in my
statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD. Hath
oppressed the poor and needy, hath spoiled by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and
hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination, Neither
hath oppressed any, hath not withholden the pledge, neither hath spoiled by
violence, but hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment, That hath taken off his hand
from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my
judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely
live. (Freedom from oppression) This is where we get all our laws; this was how our representatives are elected into the government. Our freedoms and liberty comes from the Words of God. How can anyone say otherwise? Or were our forefathers just deists who thought God was not involved in human affairs? Remember Patrick Henry’s statement about the established laws that were made by Christians, and not religionists. It was these laws from the Bible that give a firm unpenetrating foundation that no other religion is to control the governing of the American people. When God inspired men to write the Bible centuries ago He had in mind the needs of man’s existence. I happened upon a letter written to the editor of the local newspaper the writer declaring that the “Constitution Has No Mention of God.” I found that the writer had a lack of knowledge and understanding including little, if none, U.S. history or Christian history education. The evidence of Christian foundation that helped build the United States of America began at Jamestown, Virginia in 1607, fourteen years before Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts. Not only is there a U.S. Constitution but also all fifty states have their own constitution. They all have reference to God. The First Amendment doesn’t mention a “wall of separation between church and state.” This is due to bad history that breeds confusion and anarchy. The testimonies of presidents George Washington and Thomas Jefferson support this. In 1892, the U.S. Supreme Court studied for ten years documents pertaining to the foundation of God’s word in our society. By unanimous vote all came into agreement. As Psalm 33:8-12 declares, “Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and stood fast. The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the people of no effect. The counsel of the Lord stands forever. The plans of His heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, and the people whom He has chosen as His own inheritance.” America’s foundation is being torn apart by rampant sin, addictions, radical homosexual movement, and anti-God agendas in the government. I choose to pledge allegiance to the righteousness of one nation under God, and the American constitution than a few anti-Americans who want to destroy it forever. Just as Jesus Christ died to make all men free, my hope is for a free nation under God. Without the U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and the Northwest Ordinance our future will be blotted out from the pages of history the same as ancient Rome succumbed to centuries ago. Civilizations will come and go but the Lord and His Word will live on forever. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath
made me free from the law of sin and death. – Romans 8:2 He (Yahveh) that spared not his own Son (Christ Jesus),
but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give
us all things? – Romans 8:32 REF: KJV Bible Barton, Dan. America’s Godly Heritage. Wallbuilders. Barton, Dan. Foundations of American Government. Wallbuilders. ©2008 Teresa Carr. Skyhouse Communications & Mega
